Chinese-born now Austrian citizen Jiang Shuo is a prolific international contemporary sculptor. She works in different studios across several countries. She is among the first women to study sculpture at the Central Academy of Arts & Design, today known as the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, Beijing. Jiang Shuo used to be a member of the Red Guard during the cultural revolution. Witnessing the drastic change in Chinese cultural norms fueled her Red Guard series.

Love - Selfie is a figure of two people, a boy and a girl, both happily taking a selfie with their outside hand raised above their head, the inside arm wrapped around each other’s back. Their lifted leg shows a carefree bliss. The characters have no facial feature other than Jiang Shuo’s signature singular concave hemisphere to mark an open mouth. While taking a picture together, the figures are looking toward their own phones.
